Heidi

Heidi I have taken riding lessons only a few short months with Janet and Prince.

Prince is the most trained and obedient horse I have ever seen. He is the perfect picture of how a horse should be loved and trained. Prince has taught me a lot in lessons. He is always very patient when I don't get it right the first time. He has made my love for horses grow more and more everytime I ride. I will always remember and treasure my first loping experience on him. It was one of the most exciting and thrilling things I have ever done!!. It was definitely a highlight in my life.

Janet is absolutely amazing.!! She is a wonderful person and incredible instructor. She teaches with real life principles and is all about the relationship between you and the horse. She has taught me ( and still is!) that I am the leader at all times. I so much appreciate that Janet is all about safety. My safety comes first, before the horse. She would never put me in a risky or dangerous situation.

Without Janet, Prince would not be the fantastic horse that he is today, and without Prince, Janet would not be who she is today. They were truly a match made in heaven!.

Happy Trails,
Heidi

Kenya

Kenya I really enjoyed lessons with Mrs. Caul and I CANNOT wait until I can take lessons with her again in the spring. I am also very sad to leave Prince, her horse. He means SO much to me and I just can't stand to leave him. But, here are some things I learned with Mrs. Caul and Prince:

• Grooming a horse
• Saddling and haltering (or bridling) a horse
• Feeding a horse
• Horse parts
• Leading a horse
• Posture, walking (trotting) and stopping exercising while riding

Note: I would give $100,000 or $1,000,000,000,000,078 for Prince!! He means SO much to me and I wish he weren't going. He is SUCH an good horse. He will be dearly blessed and missed.

The Smith Family

Emily We have been with Janet for two years now and I have found her to be a true professional. I was delighted to find there was actually an instructor out there that will come to your farm and give you lessons on your own horses. We have also taken lessons on her horse Prince which has greatly enriched the learning process.

You get the whole package with Janet. She is more than a riding instructor, she is a knowledgeable consultant in all aspects of horse ownership and horsemanship. She taught us how to properly feed and care for our horses and taught my daughters proper horse handling and safety before they ever got into the saddle. When they started riding she also started with the basics and had them work their way up, always emphasizing safety and proper technique. Her insistence on the girls always wearing their helmets saved one of my daughters from a serious head injury when she took a bad fall from her horse. When she tells you "every time, every ride" heed her advice! She knows what she is doing and there is a reason for everything she tells you to do. She has taught us how to work through problems with our horses when they have training issues that need to be addressed. If you want to see her ability as a trainer, you only have to look at Prince to see what she can do.

LauraWhether you are looking for an instructor, consultant or trainer, she can do it all and I know because she has done all of those things for us. On top that, she has been a really great friend to us. She genuinely cares about people and doesn't stop caring when your hour is up. She always goes above and beyond the call of duty. She has taken many after hours "help!" calls from us when our horses aren't behaving like Prince and will stay on the phone with my daughter until the tears are dry. She is the most patient and understanding riding instructor I've ever seen and is wonderful with people who have fear issues. She is by far the most knowledgeable horseman or horsewoman I have ever met and I highly recommend her!

Anna

Anna Over these past four years, Mrs. Caul and Prince have brought me so far. Mrs. Caul has been patient, and understanding, and Prince just as much a teacher as her. They have brought me a long ways, both in equine circumstances and spiritual. When I started, I knew next to nothing. I had read a lot about horses, and ridden them, though not on a regular basis and not correctly. Mrs. Caul started from scratch, and we spent a lot of time on the ground. Prince was so very tolerant, and he put up with everything. When we moved to riding, I was, well, a beginner, Mrs. Caul gave me multiple reminders to keep my heels down, or to sit deeper, and Prince, well, was exceptional. Mrs. Caul trained Prince to be as perfect as possible, and she did a fantastic job. Over four years, both have taught me more than I thought would be possible. I am probably not the easiest student, but I am so thankful. Mrs. Caul, I want to thank you, for making me something more than a horse admirer, and Prince, you taught me more than riding, you both helped me become a better person and rider. I know this is much to short, but all I have is praise for them. They are a true team. I love them both. Thank you all, so very much.
Love,
- Anna

Bethany Allison

Bethany I have learned a lot of things about horses - how to walk, trot, lope and so on - and it has been a lot of fun. I love to groom Prince, and I love to ride him. It has been a little hard, but learning how to ride is worth it. I like to lope alot, but I still need to learn more. Prince is very obedient, when I cue him right. He is very handsome, and a lot of fun to ride. He is a very good lesson horse. And I thank God for leading us to you and Prince.
Thank you for teaching me how to ride, - Bethany Allison

Leigh

Leigh When my husband and I bought our acreage 2 years ago, I wanted a horse so bad I could taste it. My first horse I bought was a young 3 year old filly and boy did I learn quickly that I knew nothing about taking care of a horse.

When I bought my other two horses, I still knew nothing but was willing to learn even with all the bruises and bumps. I found Janet's ad and was interested. I contacted her and she was very eager to have me come and see her and Prince. Boy does she know what she is talking about!

I have learned more in the past 4 months than in my whole life about horses. Tips on feeding, caring for and relating to my horses. It has helped so much in my re pore with my barn buddies.

After being dumped off several time and actually being afraid to ride, Janet has built up my confidence so I am not only riding, but trotting. I never thought I would get over being thrown, but after my lessons I go home and ride my horse and I feel more confident and educated on what I need to do.

I am still a work n progress but every lesson gets me closer to my goals.

Who knew horses were so smart and they figured out I wasn't. Now I can show them who is boss...

Thank you Janet for everything. You are a patient and gentle teacher. - Leigh, Oreo and Sid

Rachel

Rachel When I first thought about taking riding lessons, the idea seemed so far away. I fumbled around on the internet looking for a close instructor that would come to my place to teach me, and I found Janet Caul. I took a chance and went for it. I was nervous at first to have her evaluate Raven and I, but she made me realize how little I knew and how many problems I had. After making a difficult and painful decision to sell my horse, I figured that would be the end of my 'horsey' life. But Janet and I made arrangements and she helped me sell her, stood by me in my decision and reassured me that this wasn't the end.

Janet is a friend and one heck of an instructor. She knew before I did that I had fear issues with horses due to my experience with Raven. She takes things slow and makes sure you 'get it' before she moves on, and I respect that. Right now she's helping me along in finding/buying a new horse, and if there's one thing I can assure you about it's that Janet knows best and will never hold out on information that you need. Her horse Prince is no different. He makes the perfect lesson horse for so many reasons.. He's gentle, always keeps you on your toes, forgiving and easy to approach. I recommend Janet to anyone who wants to learn not only how to ride, but to learn everything you can about horses, their mind, their body, their diet, their needs and so much more. I couldn't ask for a better experience than what I've had so far with Janet and I hope that you will come and take that same chance, you won't regret it.

Steph

Steph I was still smiling when I pulled in the yard. I can't wait to get this stuff down and become a good rider. Prince is super and he makes me comfortable. He's going to help build my confidence so much. I have a long way to go but at this point am just thrilled to be riding.

I'm excited for my next lesson as well. I don't know that I've ever gotten off of a horse and felt that good. Usually I go on scared and get off feeling the same way only with a whole lot of relief because it's over. It was so different Friday. I'm starting to believe I can really do this.
I'm actually "craving" going down and working with my horse. I'm usually full of excuses and I know it's because of my fear.

I want to give you a heartfelt thanks for your time and also for the gift of getting to ride Prince. He is quite the gentleman. Your encouraging words and experience dealing with fear issues gave me a HUGE boost in confidence and just helped me to rationalize "fear" in general. I firmly believe that God is in control and He gets us where we need to be. I don't think any meeting of any person is a chance accident but rather a purposeful crossing of paths that helps us grow in our faith and be the servant God needs us to be. I'm so thankful that our paths crossed.

Tanya Lynch

Tanya Thank you for the compliment on Cinc and I being a good match...I was beginning to wonder. I SOOO appreciate you coming all the way down here to help me. It meant a ton that you cared to come. I will keep you updated and he will only become better because of you, cuz now he and I can hit the trails together and keep on learning:) Your a good friend, Janet!

Eric & Joni Eitzmann

Eitzmann We are seeing incredible results with our horses! We had our horses for almost a year and finally decided we really didn't know what we were doing and better call the number on that business card we got 7 months ago. Janet answered the call and has been helping us learn and understand our horses as well as train us! With Janet's encouragement, knowledge, and gentleness, our horses have become more compliant and calm which has helped us enjoy them even more. Our top alpha, Oakes has gone from rearing and bucking to wanting to be pleasing and much less afraid of the unknown. Our alpha mare has exchanged her snooty attitude for a sweet, compliant one. We had been trying to put weight on our Thoroughbred for months, but we just weren't making much progress. Janet suggested a different feeding schedule and within a month he has gotten to a much healthier weight and looks gorgeous. When Janet comes over, she observes the way we go about doing things . . . the hard way, and then shows us a much better way for the comfort and safety of our horses as well as ourselves. It has been amazing to see what progress is made every week. We look forward to coming home from work each day to do the "homework" Janet gives us so we can impress her with how great our horses have become! Janet is a funny, kind, honest, helpful, all around lovely person. We are blessed to have her showing us how enjoyable "horsing around" can be!

Kate

Kate I enjoyed the lessons that I had with Janet. They were practical. She explains things well, is patient, and has a good rapport with the horses. If there are problems, she looks at the whole horse, not just the training issue. Watch out! Being a former teacher, she assigns "horsey homework", and expects you to complete your assignments. Her "homework assignments" helped me learn the ground work techniques that I needed. I hope to be able to work with Janet in the future.

Emma

Emma I love taking riding lessons with Janet because she is really patient with me. And, Prince is very gentle.

Ariele

Ariele I was with Janet and Prince for 1 1/2 yrs., taking lessons and showing. I really enjoyed showing Prince in open shows and in 4-H. I learned multiple things about horse care, safety, riding, and anything else you can learn with a horse. Janet taught me from the ground up, and has basically gotten me to where I am now. I definitely appreciate her horsemanship skills and her talent with horses.
I am the proud owner of a new horse, Pablo. Pablo and I will continue taking lessons with Janet in the spring.

Erica

Erica Before I came to Janet, I didn't know anything about horses. When my best friend, Brittany, introduced Janet to me, I knew that she had a deep love for horses. I knew I wanted to start lessons with her right away. Janet introduced me to Prince, and what a prince he was. He is a beautiful paint horse, with a very curious personality.
Janet provided me with the very best horse at the barn. She taught me the ground rules of taking care of a horse. She taught me how to turn, stop, and trot. The best time I had with Janet, was when Janet, Ariel and I gave Prince a bath for his show the next day. I love Prince and Janet.

Angela

Angela I met Janet in the Spring of 2007. This is my first time owning a horse. I own an old horse named Nugget. I am 100% beginner and have been blessed to have Janet in my life! She has taught me almost everything I know and she is a gift to the "horse world". Janet teaches you at your level and pace, whether you are an experience horseman or a beginner. Janet creates a bond with you and your horse to expand the relationship you have with yourself and your horse. She is the best I have ever seen for safety and learning what is the best way for you and your horse. She has helped me overcome some extreme fears and increased the trust with me and my horse, Nugget. I would recommend Janet to anyone with a horse at any level. She is a wealth of knowledge for nutrition, training and riding. Janet, Thank you for all the time and energy you have spent with us! I will have Janet as my trainer for as long as she is training!

Kevin

Kevin I met Janet two years ago after some bad experiences. Janet was able teach and coach me back to where I needed to be in order to be safe and have fun. Janet taught me all aspects of horsemanship including basic care, nutrition, riding skills and safety. Janet helped me achieve many of my personal goals and helped me build the confidence to get there. I feel very fortunate to have met Janet, with her reassurance, patience and flexibility, I was able to achieve the goals that we set the first time we met. My experience with having Janet as a trainer/instructor has allowed me to continue my love for horses and explore all aspects of the horse disciplines.

Lynn

Lynn When I met Janet, I loved my horses and thought I knew how to care for them. She evaluated me, my riding, and my horses and helped guide me on better nutrition, health/hoof care and be a better rider. I had a fear of one of my horses and she helped me try to overcome my fears. When we discovered that my fear was valid and that the horse and I were not the "right match", she helped me sell her and buy a wonderful horse that was the right fit. Janet is always available, not only as a teacher, trainer, and mentor but also as a friend. I am lucky to have her as a big part of my "horsey" life.

Brittany

Brittany I have been taking lessons from Cross C Equine Services for about a year and a half. Janet has taught me about horses from the ground up. From how to groom to what to do in the saddle. I have learned so much from her over the year that I have been taking lessons. Janet had Prince when I took lessons but she knew that I had a spark in my eye about horses. So she found the best horse for me. Janet and my mom surprised me on my birthday with my own horse. He was the most perfect horse for me. The most stockiest paint quarter horse ever!!!!! After we bought him Janet taught me the 101 of taking care of your own horse. So me and Snarfy made a very Strong bond working out the kinks in the chain. But I never could of had him without Janet's help. She is such a blessing in my life!!!!!!

Leigh Ann

Leigh Ann Thank you for helping with training Wrigley. I have so much more appreciation for your talent and what you do. Your offer to train for 30 days was unbelievable. I know now how time and patience was the key. You have been wonderful. Your worth more than words. I know I'm not done, but you've given me hope. Thanks.

Chrissy

Chrissy As a future horse owner, I want to learn the best way to take care of my future horses. Meeting Janet and Prince has been the best way for me to get the right kind of knowledge to do just that. I recently learned that I don't even need a bridle to move Prince!! He is a very smart horse and Janet is an awesome instructor!! I can't wait to learn more!!!
